UCI Mountain Bike World Cup – Albstadt

Last weekend the second round of the UCI Mountainbike World Cup took place in Albstadt, Germany. The weather was sunny and very warm. A total of 190 difference in altitude per round had to be climbed. The steep and long uphill’s as well as the fast downhill’s make this course unique. Since I still haven’t much UCI points, I had to start with the number 58 in the last row. I left a gap of 5 meters to the last row. So I was able to start immediately after the starting signal, built up speed and could already overtake some riders. Even in the first uphill it stocked and I had to run some meters. After that, the catching-up began. I fought myself position by position to the front and I finally finished as 25th. I got the first UCI point at a World Cup. This race was one of the toughest I’ve ever driven. The atmosphere in the Bullentäle and the great track were spectacular. I am an absolutely fan of this course and I’m looking forward to next year.
