About me
I always loved doing all kind of different sports. I played football, rode horses and have been member of a running group (Lauftreff Spiez). At the age of 13 I finally discovered mountainbiking.
Everything started 2012 in Ornans, France. My parents and I made some mountainbike holiday. We climbed up steep uphills, enjoyed lots of singletrails and managed to overcome challenging rooty and rocky descents. Ramona was «on fire». I had no fear, wanted to test the limit and overcame technical obstacles. That feeling was amazing.
I discovered my passion and talent for mountainbiking. The «montainbike fever» was on. I started to train regularly and soon after, I competed in my first national race. There I became 7th. A few weeks later I reached the podium at the Swiss Bike Cup in Solothurn. Since then, I know what my heart is beating for.
Mountain biking, cross-country was my life for 8 years. I became Swiss champion, European champion with the team and was third on the Swiss U23 championship podium in 2020.
Then came the Corona pandemic and my life changed unexpectedly. I suddenly had time to ride Gravity with my friends. I never did this before because of my very specific and structured training plan. The jumps became wider and higher. I found the somewhat lost joy of mountainbiking again.
For the 2021, I agreed with the team management on a mixed season with cross-country, enduro and downhill races. All with the aim of being able to set a new course at the end of the season. After the first XC race in Leukerbad, however, I knew immediately that this had been my last. The team and I decided that it made more sense to follow my passion. And so, in 2021 I only raced downhill and enduro.
In the 2022 season, I focused fully on downhill. The goal was to get close to or on the podium at the European series. I succeeded twice in Ilmenau and Pila. It was also clear that I wanted to narrow my gap to the top step by step in the World Cup races. And yes, I had ambitions to start in a World Cup final! Twice it was very close. I’m still working on getting into. So, there are still nice goals to achieve in the future and many cool courses to rock.
From the 2023 season, I was appointed to the Gravity squad by the national federation Swiss Cycling
But the most important thing for me today is the joy of experiencing unforgettable moments on great tracks with nice people. I no longer base my life and its value on numbers alone. Instead of trying to survive in my previous sport, I now live my new passion.
