Transmaurienne Vanoise – 5 days, 5 races

That was hard. The stage race in France is done. It was quite a spontaneous decision to take part of this event. And I need to say, that I was positively surprised by the routes of the different stages. The Landscape was beautiful, there have been challenging and technical trails and I was able to enjoy some nice views as well. The only thing I didn’t like at all were the very, very narrow trails in the last two stages. In the beginning I felt really strong. In the second stage I reached place nr. 2 (women elite). Unfortunately I wasn’t able to go that fast till the end of the 5 days. I got 6th in the general classification. The last two stages have been really hard for me, as well mentally. I felt so empty. No power in the arms, legs and I had a hard time breathing. I suffered! Of course stage races like this are always hard. But it is a big difference between suffering with good legs and power or suffering without power. Now it is time to recover. The next race will already follow this weekend in Gstaad. See ya.
