Progress in process – Mediterranean Epic

4 hard days are done. The Mediterranean Epic was physically as well mentally an important event for me. I am confident to be on the right way and to improve my performance step by step. I am pretty happy about my performance at the race in the south.
Lots of international and strong athletes competed in Spain. It was hard but it was also a great experience to compete against these strong world-class women. During the first stage I struggled to find my rhythm and my legs have been really tired. During the second and third stage I felt amazing. I had power, great legs and was able to ride really fast in the descents. I finally found my flow. The trails around Oropesa del Mar are great and really tricky. You might know the trails in Finale Ligure (Italy)? The Mediterranean Epic is pretty comparable to those. One word: amazing! The reason why I love mountainbiking. During the last stage my batteries were totally empty. I tried not to lose too much time in this stage and fought until the finish line. The 14th overall ranking and the UCI points for this position are really important for me. But the most important is development and the associated feelings with it. Final conclusion: progress in process.
