Proffix Swiss Bike Cup – Andermatt

Well, where should I start? Should I tell you about the new and fast race track, about the rocket overtaking maneuver after the start or should I explain why I had to give up the race during the third lap?
Let’s start first at the beginning. After the start, in the first climb, I was able to push forward with a lot of power. My legs felt quite good and also my head was totally focused in the present. The first two laps I was on place 10 / 11 in the category women elite and on third place women U23. „Finally” I thought. Finally I’m going to finish the race with a top 3 ranking and stand on the podium women U23. However, this shouldn’t happen. Unfortunately I crashed during the third lap. In a steep and wet passage my front wheel slipped away on a root. My head hit a stone and for a short time I laid in the small river that flows through this passage. Nevertheless, I wanted to continue the race, but the medics didn’t allow me. After a painful shower and visiting the paramedics, my mother and I went to the cantonal hospital Uri. Luckily, I’m not seriously injured, except a few grazes and contusions. However I can compete the next race at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Andorra.
