UCI Mountain Bike World Cup – Nové Město

The morning before my first World Cup race I was quite nervous. The past few days I well prepared myself for the competition. The racetrack and the atmosphere in Nové Město are absolutely unique. The first time in a competition, I drove a full suspension bike. With number 56, my starting position was unfortunately the last line. This because of my first race in the new U23 category. During the race, I tried to keep fighting forward. With the full suspension bike it was like flying over the technical sections. At the beginning it stocked in some technical sections  and I lost much time. Unfortunately, I had also some chain and shifting problems. Nevertheless I could drive a very constant pace through the whole race. With the performance I am quite satisfied, but not with the ranking. I am sure that I can reach a better result. In any case, I am looking forward to the next World Cup in Albstadt (DE) the upcoming weekend.
