Proffix Swiss Bike Cup Lugano – The best comes last

Two weeks after the Swiss Epic, I competed together with my sister in my first ever enduro race (Enduro Team Davos). We reached an amazing 2nd place. That was really cool and a lot of fun. I think that it is good to sometimes do something different in relation to Cross-Country races and get new experiences due to that. Two weeks later, my last race of the season 2019 has arrived.

The 20min short race took place in the city of Lugano. I never competed in a short race before. Therefore, I really did not know what to expect. However, one think was clear: It is going to be hard. The past weeks I have not done many high intense trainings. I also had a bit of a sore throat the past days. Nevertheless, I was motivated. After a fast start, I have been on second position. In the second lap, a group of four riders overtook me. I finally found my rhythm and was able to overtake some riders as well. At the end, I crossed the finish line on the 4th place elite woman and 1st place U23. I am quite happy with that. It was short but extremely intense. My legs have been totally ready and strong but my lungs unfortunately burned like fire. Clearly «athlete at the limit». The Final event in the Tessin has always been something special the past few years. This year I am happy to finish a season after a lot of up’s and down’s on. I won the overall classification (U23) of the national Proffix Swiss Bike Cup as well today’s race in the U23 category. In the elite category, I reached a great 3rd overall place. A great finish after a hard season and as well a good start for my training break.
