Cold, colder, Buchs

Last Sunday, the second race of the Proffix Swiss Bike Cup took place in Buchs, St. Gallen. The past week I tried to recover my legs and I prepared myself for this competition. To be honest I didn’t feel quite good the whole week. My legs were heavy and tired. I tried to not freak out about it, didn’t allow to stress myself and tried to listen to my body. Because our body is smart and knows, exactly what it needs and what it doesn’t need. The challenge for ourselves is to just listen to the signals, feelings and needs and to «turn off your head» at the right time. I have been quite nervous before the start. But I was really looking forward to the race. My legs felt good (again) as well. The weather was really wet and the trails were muddy as f***. Exactly how I like it. Although a few degrees Celsius more would have been quite nice actually. The race has been really hard and I fought for every single place. Due to my solid and steady pace I could ride the 7th fastest final lap and crossed the finish line as 11th elite women. I am really happy with that result, although I missed the top 10 by 17 seconds. I am looking forward to the next race in Heubach (Germany), when it’s time again for  «Bike the Rock».
